What's in it and why
Plant oils/butters - naturally packed with vitamins and omega oils to nourish, condition, moisturise and protect the skin.
Rapeseed oil - this is sourced locally from Granary Oils, Warwickshire. It is grown and cold pressed on the farm just a few miles away from where the cream is made. Visit granaryoils.co.uk to find out more about their oils and production. Rapeseed is excellent at nourishing and conditioning skin.
Jojoba - Keeps skin soft and hydrated by preventing trans-dermal water loss. Protects and acts a barrier to harsh conditions.
Olive oil and Olive wax - naturally high in vitamins (such as vitamin E, A and betacarotene) and other constituents (such as polyphenols and squalane) which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties. It's therefore ideal for soothing dry or sore skin. Being a very fatty oil it is deeply conditioning and nourishing and protects skin from the elements.
Shea butter - a rich, nourishing butter that supports the growth of healthy skin cells. It is soothing and has excellent moisture-retaining properties, making the skin refreshed and very soft and supple. It is produced sustainably by a women's cooperative in Ghana, so supporting local families and economy.
Plant actives and Vitamins - give skin that extra boost!
Hyaluronic acid is commonly known as the ‘fountain of youth’. It binds water so hydrates the skin giving it fullness and volume, It is key in many products intended to make you look more youthful and fresh. The hyaluronic acid in this cream is of botanical origin, made by a yeast, glucose and soy bio-fermentation process. It is also Ecocert approved for use in natural and organic cosmetics.
Pure Essential oils - Cedarwood, Frankincense and Patchouli, chosen because they soothe, tone and balance dry skin.
Floral farmers cream - Jasmine and Rose geranium.
Vitamin E - an antioxidant that is soothing and softening. Promotes healthy skin growth and keeps fine lines at bay. It is natural and extracted from non GM crops, mainly sunflower.
Vitamin A - vital in products that promote healthy skin growth. It improves skin texture and radiance and diminishes the look of fine lines. It doesn't occur 100% naturally but is derived from plant sources, usually palm oil. I am mindful to only use Vitamin A from sustainable palm oil according to RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) certification.
Misc
Cetearyl olivate, sorbitan olivate - emulsifier to hold the oils and water together in a cream. It is derived from Olive oil and is silky on the skin and hydrating. It is Ecocert certified for use in natural and organic cosmetics.
Preservative - Has to be included, otherwise the product would go mouldy in days. The one used in this cream is Ecocert certified for use in natural and organic cosmetics.
